Milwaukee County Zoo Travel Reviews

A Zoo missing animals... Jul 09, 2008
I use to go here to Milwaukee County Zoo when i was kid.I grew up in Milwaukee and Back then it was fun..riding the choo-choo train, pony ride, seeing how big these farm and wild animals were in real life, like they walked right out from my cartoons...

Sad to say, a decade later I come back and the experiance for me this time was horrible! Where was the magic?! I think the experiance was bad for me because I have a adult outlook on life and animals in general. Most of time I was worried about how dull the animals looked or lack of...

I havent been to this zoo since 1996 or 1995...but then it was cool. Now..this time..it sucked! Where the hell were the animals..i didnt get to see the kangaroos on display or none of the elephants...all of a sounded the animals at the zoo were MIA...so i felt like I was bamboozled for my money. I wanted to see KOALAS!!! and there were none...: (

The Zoo is great for family vacations, a friend and I went because of the simple fact that we havent been back to a zoo since we ourselves were children.

I still recommend the County Zoo, its primarly for children or those special adults who still have that wonder and amazement in animals!
Just the Best! Nov 15, 2006
This zoo is a true oasis in the city of Milwaukee. With approximately 2500 animals, there is something for everyone. The newly renovated feline building is extraordinary, with tigers, lions, jaguars & cheetahs. There is also an excellent "family farm" area, where kids can see live demonstrations, a dairy barn & a playground. The Milwaukee County Zoo will always be one of my all-time top 10!

Kristina, do they still have a live steam train or is it a regular train at the Milwaukee Zoo these days? We went to that zoo for our post-prom trip and had a bunch of fun. Really good zoo but the live steam train was most memorable. ~Jeff
