Miller Brewery Tour Milwaukee Reviews
Free tour and free samples of drinks! Aug 21, 2012
Milwaukee is synonymous with beer, in no small part to the Miller Brewery Company, which has its headquarters here. And definitely worth visiting while in town.
Located outside of downtown, and in an area known as Miller Valley, it is most easily accessible by car, as I am not sure if you can get there by bus. There are signs that show the way, so it should not be too hard to find.
The factory tour is free, as you go inside the visitor center to be assigned a tour time, and given a wristband. About an hour, the tour starts with a short film, taking people to the packaging plant, distribution center, among other places. The last and interesting part is the historic cave, which kept things cool before there was any refrigerators. Also, there is the mural and the original logo of Miller, the “Girl in the Moon”.
The tour ends with free samples of beer, but you are limited to 3. And in case you’re wondering, they put a mark on the wristband to keep track of how many you drank so far. For those who don’t drink beer, there is soda, and that’s unlimited. Plus free bags of pretzels for anyone who wants them. Also, you can send postcards to anyone, free of charge.
The tour itself was interesting and informative, as you get to learn about the brewing process, and how things were done back then. And free drinks alone, is enough reason to visit this place. ;)
