Millennium Hotel Saint Louis Reviews
A Great Economical Downtown Hotel May 10, 2009
After reading all the bad internet reviews on this hotel, I was prepared for the worst. I thought it was going to be bad when I first checked in and went to the room and couldn't get in and noticed the door handles were kind of cold and cruddy looking, so I went back and got another room on the 19th floor. All the door handles looked old and was hope they just replace all of them. Okay, I get into my room and the room is very spacious and clean. I can honestly say I was very impressed, plus I was kind of disapointed that I didn't have a view of the Arch, but the view of the city was just as nice especially during the Cardinals' home opener. A friend of mine stayed at another high price hotel and I was surprised that my room was almost twice the size of his, so I didn't have any complaints. I ate breakfast at the restaurant, but wasn't impressed with the food, but the service was great and the chef even cooked me some turkey sausage since the buffet had nothing but pork, so I was grateful for that. I stayed at the hotel for 5 days and had no complaints. Now what really showed how great the staff was, I left to go back to the airport and found out that I left some clothes with a large amount of money in them in my room. I spoke to a lovely lady who was the security person at the time and with her honesty, my clothes and money was recovered. In this day and time she could of taken the money and I would of never known, but I rushed back to the hotel got my items and still made it back for my flight. How many hotels can say they have honest personnel? I will definitely tell people to stay at this hotel, when they are in the city. When/if I get back to St. Louis, I will be staying at this great hotel.

I went to St. Louis for a couple of days for a conference. While the Millennium had a great conference center, the rest of the hotel was not good.
The rooms were very small and the all the beds were twins. I can't remember the last time I went to a hotel and had to sleep in a twin bed. The rooms were so small that it was uncomfortable to live in there with 2 other people. There was very little staff on duty at any given point. I saw maybe two or three employees max at any given time. We didn't have a problem but heaven forbid you do and there is no one to help you. The overall appearance of the hotel was just bland. They had an indoor pool the shape of a wedge in the middle of the lobby almost. The only 2 good things I could think of were that they had a great conference center and the location was great (right next to the Arch and Busch Stadium). |
