Excellent Location, Luxurious Hotel, Beautiful Room Nov 13, 2008
The best feature of this hotel is it's location which overlooks historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace. We stayed here in September of 2002 for our Anniversary. We were in a beautiful room that when you opened the door there were three or four steps down into a sunken room with very high ceilings. There was a beautiful canopy-like swag of fabric hanging over the head of the bed from way up high on the wall. There was a real fireplace in the room and when we wanted to use it someone from the hotel came to our room and lit the fire for us. We ordered room service the next morning which was good. Our room had a very small balcony that you could take one step out onto and see the Marketplace across the street. I loved hearing the sounds from all of the activity going on at Faneuil Hall.
It was so great to be able to go downstairs and cross the street and be in the middle of all the action and excitement of the area. I suggest some serious shopping to work up an appetite and then have lunch at Quincy Market...there are so many restaurants to choose from. Relax and digest by watching the street performers dazzling the crowds. My other suggestions is dinner in the North End. It's the little Italy of Boston and so authentic. There are numerous Italian Restaurants. Hanover Street is the main drag so you can walk up and down reading menus until you find something you like. And after dinner you can't miss a cannoli or Tiramisu at Mike's or Modern Pastry. This hotel is also a great location for visiting the New England Aquarium and the scenic harbor which are just beyond Faneuil Hall Marketplace. It's also an easy walk to the downtown area, which is in the opposite direction of the Aquarium. And if you end up downtown you might as well cross through and take in the beauty of the Boston Common and Gardens and then walk down Newbury and Boylston Streets for highend shopping. I find Boston to be such a great walking city...you really can see most of it by foot. If you visit the hotel's main page you will see all of the attractions and their close proximity to the hotel. As you can tell, I love the location of the Millennium Bostonian. It's only two miles from Logan Airport and walking distance to most area attractions. It's a luxurious hotel but also more on the expensive side. |
