Who's been sleeping in my bed Dec 26, 2009
The Millenium Biltmore bought a smile to my face as we entered the lobby to find an enormous Christmas tree, beautifully decorated, with it's lights illuminating the tree with large presents wrapped in gold matching the interior of gold and blue hued rooms.

Chandeliers hang from the ceiling that brings your attention to the The beautiful gold painted ceilings. The reception gives you the option of a porter to bring your bags to the room but we chose to take them ourselves saving some money on unwanted tips.

The Millenium Biltmore dating back to the 1920's is truly an historical hotel having hosted the Academy Awards from the early 30's to the late 40's. With pictures of the ceremony adorning the walls you can't help but wonder who has slept in your room.

Reading from the Lonely Planet it said that they feel the rooms were quite small but we felt the room was quite spacious having plenty of room for two queen sized beds and some other furnishings as well.

For TV lovers though the room does not have updated TV's there are no large flat screen TV's here. This was not a problem for us though. The bathroom was simple and adequate.

The hotel has three restraunts. We ate at one for our Christmas dinner. The food and service was of high quality. The gratuity was already included in the bill so check the bill or ask if eating here. Apparently the Hotel has one of the better sports bars in downtown LA but we did not drink here.

The indoor swimming pool in the basement is supposed to be amazing designed in arc -deco.The Millenium biltmore is like a tourist attraction in its own way and you often see people wander in off the street to walk around and take photos.

Overhall we enjoyed our stay here.

Every Memorial Day, my best friend and I head to LA for the long weekend. We always want a decent hotel, but don't want to spend a whole lot of money on it, because this isn't supposed to be a big "money burning" trip.

Last year, we got reservations at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel for $65 on Pricelinewhich I thought was a great price for a hotel in downtown LA (we usually stay in Hollywood or Beverly Hills, this was our first time staying downtown).

The lobby is very “Old LA” and beautiful, and that was really cool. But the room was really small, and the window just looked out onto another roof and wall.

The good parts, were that the room was clean, and there was a cheap and good little sports bar downstairs for food.

You do need to pay extra for parking, and we found that staying downtown, which originally we thought would be cool, just made it hard to get in and out; it seemed so much easier to stay in Hollywood or Beverly Hills.
