Milky Bay Resort Koh Phangan

This is a really beautiful place to stay. It's away from the hustle and craziness of Hat Rin but close enough (by taxi) to stay at if you're there for the full moon party. You need to book extra days if you plan to stay around that time. Nothing is cheap around that time-it's not the most expensive nor is it the cheapest-but we got a really nice big villa and it was worth what we paid for. The shower is huge - it and the toilet/sink are bigger than some of the other places we stayed in thailand. There's another bed in the room so 3 people could stay. The people who worked there are great-one woman went home and got some sewing thread/a needle for me so I could fix my backpack!!! The music they have playing in the restaurant is always pretty awesome and the bar/pool tables are RIGHT off the water and have an amazing view of the bay. The water here is shallow and is so truly amazing. If you want to stay somewhere peaceful and beautiful this place is a great choice.

The food at the restaurant is sooooo good. Try the hot coconut milk for dessert (and any of the rest of the food). A bit spendy by Thai standards-but it's worth it to sit and chill with something like groove armada playing in the background and the people who work there walking around in those random militaryesque jumpers (what is up with that--felt like we weren't quite in on a joke)...

The only bad thing (for some) is that there are geckos running around at night (sometimes in your room--seems like this happens everywhere though)--we had a particularly clumsy one in our room that kept knocking stuff over! lol :) My advice is to have that extra pina colada so you sleep right through it---those little fellas keep the bugs away so they can bunk with me anytime!!!! Didn't bother me - but i may be in the minority on that...
