Migrena Café – I was about to write a review on this, and found one from Asia (czerw_kapturek) which of course I then read. I agree with her review, so I won’t go into much about the service or the products (though I certainly do run over there at times when I have a 10-15 min. break from classes, as they sell some pretty good pre-packaged sandwiches for 4.50 PLN).

What I like is the art on the wall, depicting some funny scenes and situations. It definitely adds to the character of the café. From the date scrawled on one portion, it looks like it was drawn on 13 September 2001.

It’s just a short and easy walk from Rynek Główny (the main market square).

The second part of developing cafes at Gołębia street. This time because of another break between my classes. In Wednesday. I had already taken a few books from the library, so I was looking for a nice, quiet café where I could browse them.

Thanks God I decided to go to Migrena. Why? ‘Cause it is such a amazing place! Very characteristic, tiny café. With all this wonderful smell of tea and coffee everywhere… Like from the picture. If you order a tea with a fruit juice you will get it with a small cup of juice, which you can add to your tea by yourself, just as you like. The same thing is with rum, whisky and other alcohols. And thing that I loved: tea and chocolate is served not in the glasses, not even in small cups, but in the big: red, blue, green, yellow and orange cups. Trust me, tea from these cups is different and tastes better than from glasses. Moreover, not only drinks are wonderful. Migrena is a specific café, really tiny and so cosy. In a small local, there are a drawings on the walls inside presented everyday-life of Kraków. If you look up, you can see photos, black and white with Krakow’s artists, but also ordinary people, chidren, Kraków’s views and of course photos with a woman who wait on you. Anyway, the service is very likeable and chatty. Migrena is an incredibly amazing place. I totally felt in love with this café and I’m sure not only me. It’s a typical Old Kraków’s local, with a specific atmosphere inside. With openwork napkins, small lamps and candles on the tables, tea in teh big cups, aromatic drinks and finally homemade cakes. In a warmer day you can sit by the table outside. Just… just wonderful!

Average prices: tea 3,50 - 6 zł, coffee 4 - 8 zł, also beer (4,50 - 5,50), wine, drinks and soft drinks, sandwitches, snacks, cakes, hot chocolate (about 5 zł)

Others: paintings and photography exhibitions, specific thematic evenings, a few tables outside, possibility of reserve a table or whole cafe
