Delicious noodle dish and spicy sambal Dec 27, 2009
Mie Bakso is one popular dish throughout Indonesia. Influenced by chinese food, this egg noodle which is mixed with some sort of cooked meat - or chicken or beef or pork or even in some places is seafood. Normally eaten with some clear broth and bakso - or meatball. Other condiment is fried wonton (or pangsit as here we called it). This similar type of dish is popular in the Philipines and the nearby countries as Singapore, Malaysia.
The best noodle dish in Balikpapan according to my taste is the one called Mie Bakso Sapi, which place is located in the main street, in front of Balikpapan mall. Accompanied with spicy sambal or chili sauce, this meal is perfect for several occasions Part of the Jakarta in one year (2009-2010) travel blog
