After breakfast, we loaded up our gear and off we went on our way to the city of Fes via the Middle Atlas Mountains with several stops along the way including Ifrane and Meknes.  It was another day of fantastic scenery as we were driving through the mountains.  One of our first stops along the road, was a spot where a group of nomads usually wait for tourists to come by to take some photos. As soon as we stopped, they all came running down the hill, women, donkey...

Today we bid adieu to the cities and headed out to the Mid Atlas Mountains and the villages.  Think French Foreign Legion.   We drove thru an area frequented by Barbary Apes but none were spotted.  Then again, I could have been napping at this point.We arrived at our destination for the night, Auberge Jaafer, a cute hotel near the small, mud-brick village of Berrum. Muddled in Midelt

After sunrise it was back on the camels again and back to our hostel on the edge of the sand dunes for breakfast...another perfect half hour ride away. During this overnight adventure I learnt a lot about riding a camel....it is so easy when going across flat land but riding up and over sand dunes is an art that is learnt with practise!. When going UP you have to LEAN right FORWARD towards the camels neck...when going DOWN...(this is scarier!) you have to LEAN right ...

Oef, dit gaat moeilijk worden, want ik heb een verkeerd toetsenbord: alle toetsen zitten ergens anders dan gewend. Dus lees svp even door alle typfouten... (je zal ipv de a regelmqtig de q lezen ipv z=w ipv m=,) Goed ik ben dus alweer ruim een week hier. Ondertussen alle groepsleden een beetje leren kennen en ik heb een super groep dit jaar!!! 20 personen en de meesten tussen 23 en 40. Het is echt erg gezellig en ik ben dan ook nog maar weinig alleen op pad geweest, maar altijd in kleine gro...
