We bought this program along with the GPS sensor for our driving trip around Washington state and British Columbia. Several points stand out: 1)We have not been able to adjust the route planning to take us on a "scenic drive" as opposed to the most direct route. If this feature is available within the program, we could not find it. 2)When using the GPS directions, and you travel off route for a more scenic route or just to make a pit stop, the directions repeatedly announce that you are "OFF ROUTE!" 3)Landmarks seem to be only auto dealerships; this does not classify as a landmark to me! 4)The GPS sensor has a difficult time maintaining a signal in downtown areas between tall buildings. 5)The construction update component would be okay, however highway departments seem to plan their projects in their own time. However, overall, the GPS sensor and route planning are a good addition when traveling in an unfamiliar area. The maps seem to be fairly complete and accurate. If you do not have a car equipped with a built-in GPS navigational system, this program works well, as long as you have a laptop and a good battery or a power inverter. You should familiarize yourself with this program before beginning any trip into unfamiliar territory; otherwise, your navigator in the passenger seat will have his/her head down looking at the computer screen while the car is speeding by the scenery you came to see!

I bought the version without the GPS unit and it was only good for a map and directions. We also hated the car dealerships being the only landmarks. (See my review.)
