Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade Walt Disney World Reviews
Only worth it if you are already in Animal Kingdom Mar 17, 2013
Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade is an afternoon parade in Animal Kingdom, having been around since 2001. Not surprisingly, the main theme of this parade, is about animals, which makes it stand out from the other parades.
Along with having Disney characters, some walking and others riding on safari vehicles, the parade also has people riding on animal floats, along with people walking on silts in animal costumes (called Party Animals) and guests riding in carriages, which are being pulled by rickshaws taxis.
Along with seeing familiar characters like Mickey and Goofy, you also get to see some of the lesser-known ones, like Brer Rabbit and Terk.
The parade route starts from the Africa section, goes around Discovery Island (where the Tree of Life is), then into Asia section. I watched it near Discovery Island.
When I first saw this parade, I hated it, as I entered into Animal Kingdom, watched the parade. Then left, thinking this was a huge waste of time, and inferior to the other Disney parades. But when giving it a second chance, much to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it. How could that be? My guess… spending the entire day in Animal Kingdom, and thus the theme of this parade, actually complements the type of day very well. Who knows!
So this parade is definitely worth a watch, only if you spent most of your day at Animal Kingdom. But not worth leaving another park, and coming to this one, just for this parade, then leaving the park after that, as I think it is very different from the other parades.
