Michigan - UP (upper peninsula) Mackinac Island Reviews
Feb 23, 2007
Hope you enjoy the pictures we took on our trip to Upper Peninsula of Michigan during July 4th weekend.
Although not as magnificent as the Niagara, Tahquamenon
falls are unique by its colorful water falls.
We took a cruise to see the Pictured Rocks Nat'l Lakeshore along Lake Superior. The 38miles cruise gave us a full view of the Rocks. We couldn't help but were amazed by the natural formation of the softsand Rocks some 500 million years ago. Due to erosion, we will see less and less Rocks in the future, which is sad. I have to say Lake Superior is the greenest water I've ever seen so closely.
Grand Island is opposite to the Pictured Rocks. It's the size of Manhattan Island with only 7 families living on it and only one family has phone line - can you imagine?
Mackinac Island is such a fancy island that you can only get on by ferry. So carriage is popular again, only sometimes it gets so stinky.
Oops, space's up. I wrote too much. Enjoy :)
