Tram in Melbourne Feb 01, 2011
A good way to go around the city in Melbourne is driving the Trams. There are different routes and they are very good.

They are punctual and cover most of the city. If you don't have a card, you can buy the tickets in the tram, but be aware you need coins to do it. If not, better purchasing them at the machines in some stops.

Tram is not that cheap, but you can choose the type of ticket that is more suitable to you.

Once you are in Melbourne get a map with the tram's routes and you'll be ready to explore the city.

Bear in mind that myki cards (similar to oyster or octopus cards) are replacing the metcard system, so you will no longer be able to buy tickets on board the tram. You will have to buy a myki card ($5 or $10) and put money on it before being able to travel.
