Metropolis is a small community of about 6,500 population just across the Ohio river from Paducah, Kentucky.
In 1972 when DC Comics named Metropolis the homtown of Superman it gave this small community a major boost. They installed a huge statue (in full color) next to the courthouse and have created a Superman museum on Main Street very nearby.
There are no theaters in town but between Superman and Harrah's casino tourism is the major industry.

I decided to take a cross country road trip to gatlinburg tenn. on the way I stopped at friends places and expanded my road trip after the original cabin trip in gatlinburg, I head east to North Carolina to the outer banks, up north to MD to N.Y. withsights in between. after I left New York, I went thru PA to Ohio and spent a week there and had Tday with some friends.
