Metropole Hotel Miami Beach

The service at the Metropole was terrible! Our rooms were not cleaned until late evening despite repeated reminders. Our sheets were not changed and were smelly and damp when we moved in and so they remained until the end of our stay. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo and toilet paper were not replenished in our bathroom. Neither would the coffee sachets be replenished in our kitchen. On three occasions, I called the front desk to ask for coffee sachets only to be unapologetically informed that they had run out coffee. Of course, because the Metropole is serviced apartments and not a Hotel, there was no room service to order coffee from either. The staff at the front desk of the Metropole was always unfriendly and unapologetic for the lack of cleanliness of our room, the lack of facilities and was completely unhelpful in every way. All our attempts to contact the Manager met with failure.

On the day that we checked out, we requested that the "free shuttle" be available to drop us to the airport at 6 p.m. in time for our flight. At 5.55 p.m., five minutes before we were to leave, we were informed that the shuttle was unavailable and that despite the fact that the South Beach Group has six hotels in the area supposedly offering the same shuttle service, no alternative shuttle was available and no alternative arrangements could be made for us. The manager of the Metropole was once again unavailable, the assistant manager of the Metropole refused to even speak with us on the phone. The front desk put us in touch with a Mr. Jose Gomez who is an assistant manager for the group who was, once again, unnecessarily rude and completely unhelpful.

The only good thing about the place was the location. Otherwise it just plain sucked!
