Messa
Messa Reviews
Pricey, but worth it! May 01, 2007
Messa is like France meets New York! The decoration of the restaurant is a swank "white on white" interior design. There are distinctive seating areas....intimate nooks in which you can sit on couches behind white curtains drawn or open, cozy individual table seatings, 2 long & high tables down the middle of the restaurant reminiscent of the Roman era or a private room toward the end of the restaurant.
It's the small touches of elegance in restaurant decorating that I seem to notice. The floors, beautiful white marble. On the tables here, you don't get a tealight in the bottom of a votive candle holder-but a crystal, menorah type of candle holder to illuminate the setting. There are holograms on some of the walls which kind of weirded me out, but was an interesting touch nonetheless. Although the food was expensive, it was well worth the cost. The chef whipped up some of the most exquisite dishes. We all just kind of sat and "oohed & aahed" for a moment at each other's dish when the waitress brought them out. I'm usually a "toss a beer back" kinda gal, but the wine list was so extensive, I had to try a glass. Ok, two! If you ever get the opportunity, and don't mind spending an above average amount of money for a nice meal, it would be an opportunity to take advantage of experiencing an evening at Messa. |
