Mesa Grill New York Reviews
Great Southwest Flavor from celebrity chef Babby Flay Jul 12, 2012
Mesa Grill is located on NYC's Fifth Avenue between 15th & 16th Street.
The two-level restaurant is beautifully and understatedly designed with rich Southwest colors of yellow and orange creating a warm atmosphere.
The bar area is small... but was crowded with people. The whole place was packed and was rather loud. Definitely a very lively restaurant.
We were seated on the 2nd level... a more cozier and intimate area, compared to the main level. Since it was restaurant week, we decided to choose from the restaurant menu + a mojito.
Appertizer: SHRIMP + ROASTED GARLIC CORN TAMALE with Fresh Corn + Cilantro Sauce
Entree: GRILLED CHICKEN with Smoked Red Chile Vinegar Sauce, Fresno-Goat Cheese Tamale + Tomatillo Salsa
Dessert: Toasted Coconut Latered Cake with Coconut Cream Sauce
Service was good. Friendly and very accommodating. The food was great. I really love the ROASTED GARLIC CORN TAMALE with Fresh Corn - a must have!
Overall this place is a 4/5. Great food and drinks. Great for groups. Lively atmosphere. Price-wise (without the restaurant menu) it is moderately expensive to expensive - about $65 for a 3-course meal consisting an appetizer + entree + dessert.
