Meridiana Hotel Florence

The motel will always stand out as one of the more interesting that we visited. Our daughters, Tara, Morgan and Erin were in a different room on the same floor. Their room was actually quite a bit nicer than ours. But ours was clean so we weren't too worried about the difference.

When we got into bed we were shocked that the matress sagged so it was almost touching the floor... yikes. We were supposed to be in the room for two nights... In the morning our backs hurt from the bed. The next night we actually looked under the bed... it did not have a box spring mattress under the top one... it just had wire mesh... so there was no support. I found pillows and blankets in the tall dresser next to the bed. We lifted the mattress and put them under it. This extra cushion kept the bed from sagging... happily we got a good night's sleep and woke up with no back pain. (a few days after we left I realized I forgot to take the pillows and blankets out of the bed... yikes)

The motel had a pretty good internet. We had to wait to use it as there was just one terminal. It was stuck in a kind of awkward place in the lobby. After we used the internet a crowd of teen decended upon it and we saw how handy it was to have the night clerk nearby to help them and keep them quiet.

Breakfast was really quite good. It was all cold things but a very good variety. There were several types of meats and cheeses, several breads and rolls, coffee, tea, cold cereal, fruit and yogurt. It was included in the motel price.

I am not certain we would go back. It was quite a long way from the sights we wanted to visit. The girls loved their room and we were not fond of the bed in ours.. (the actual room was nice). If we stayed again we would immediately check the bed before we unpacked... (LOL... they are probably still looking for the blankets and pillows I hid last time..)

Before you decided on this motel it would be smart to look at the location on a map to see if it is too remote from the sights you want to visit.
