Mercury Lounge

Groovy atmosphere, great beers from around the world, fine wines, friendly knowledgable staff, free popcorn, all in all a really cool little place to hang out. It is a cool place just to hang out and be mellow. It has a covered outside patio for the smokers to smoke. There are several couches to lounge on and relax. Only down side is that it doesn't serve any hard liquor, but that is ok since some of the beers approach 10% alcohol.

This is probably my favourite bar in this area. They have a big selection of European as well as American beers but they do not sell any hard liquor. I enjoy the atmosphere at the Mercury Lounge that is created by the old sofas and coffee tables. I also like that there are so many candles and the pub seems to be only lit by them. The outdoor patio is nice when it’s warmer outside and also when the weather is not that good because there are heaters =) (which happens occasionally in Santa Barbara) The patio is also the only place where smoking is allowed. The pool table is also quite popular, just like in any other bar. Something I really enjoy about the Mercury Lounge is the art exhibits as well as the regular live concerts.
