Mercure Swansea Reviews
So bad I had to write this review Jul 06, 2011
A terrible stay from start to finish. The first room I was given had a terrible smell as I walked in. It came from the bathroom. I opened the door and was punched in the face by the smell, so much so I didn't go inside.
The gym equipment was unsafe, and rusty. The gym shower fell off when I went to use it. It was moldy as hell, with the biggest fungus growing in it than I have ever seen. They could win awards for it.
I stayed for food - ordered a butter-squash salad. Two skinny pieces of butter-squash on 10 soggy leaves of rocket for £6.95. I sent it back and cancelled main course and went to Frankie and Benny's around the corner - yes it was that bad...
The receptionist tried hard to please, so did the staff in the restaurant, but the place needs knocking down and starting again. Worst place I've stayed for a long time and not cheap. Next day stayed at the Novotel in Cardiff for the same place and that was brilliant.
This place won a swansea tourist award for best largest hotel in Swansea. I think this was because there are no other large hotels in Swansea. Maybe just the cemetery, but that couldn't have entered or it would have won.
