A touch of Serenity on the Beach of Sanur Oct 31, 2009
The Mercure Resort in Sanur Bali was our first hotel while staying in Bali. It features a total of 189 guestrooms in 41 Balinese cottages with the traditional thatched roofs. It offers direct access to the beach, with stone pathways that lead you around the 5 hectare tropical garden. The hotel offers free breakfast at their Pandawa restaurant which sits right next to the beach. The free breakfast each morning was awesome!! There are several activities every day of the week, including Bahasa classes (I was planning to do this, but never made it). I liked this hotel because it is located in a quiet, peaceful part of the island; away from the busy congested places such as Kuta. But if Kuta is what you want to see, it is just a short drive. There is a spa on the property, as well as a gift shop. I don’t have any complaints about this hotel, except that we didn’t have internet (I think you had to pay for it). But there is a restaurant just across the street with free wi-fi.
I would definitely stay here again. We had a discount on our room, but the regular rates are still a good value. |
