Mercure Porto Gaia Vila Nova de Gaia Reviews
near to shopping Apr 02, 2011
If you visit Porto, you notice that the city is divide in 3 parts, Centro, Ribeira near to the river Douro, and Vila Nova de Gaia, which is the other side of the D. Luiz bridge.
Gaia used to be the poorest part, although Porto has always been an working classe city.
In Gaia are located the Porto wine celars -you can have a wine degustation, but better go back to your hotel by taxi!
The Mercure hotel is on the Shopping center Arabida , interestig for your wife and with some good restaurants, I would recomend the Rodizio , a brazilian meat restaurant, good and only 20€ as much meat(good) as you can eat.
The Mercure Hotel? portuguese service ( I mean poor)the television didn't work first day until 4th day! non obstant each day recall!
Clean, room size ok for 70€ a day.
Positio ok for a 2 days stay, try to reach the river level by small lanes to have some nice views.
If you need to work from your room, this hotel has free wifi, not usual in Portugal
