A Bit Far From The Beachfront Aug 15, 2014
Our last visit in Puerto Galera has no proper planning. Original plan was just to stay in Calapan City and have our vacation there but since our itineraries have been accomplished and yet we still have remaining time, we decided to head on to Puerto Galera. We didn’t have prior booking for the accommodation and we knew that it would not be easy for us to book for one since it was a peak season. Well, we still pursued our plan with the hope of finding an accommodation even just for a night stay.

As we reached the place, we started searching for the hotel or even hostel that will be good enough for us. And as expected we found a hard time getting one. All of the hotels especially those at the beach fronts were all occupied. We started walking down until we found a simple accommodation called Mercado’s Inn.

Mercado’s Inn is situated at San Isidro, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro (Philippines).

The shanty is a bit far from the beach front. The chalet itself is made of wood, bamboo and other light materials. We booked for two rooms – one small room for me and Winnie and another big room for the rest of the group. Our room is equipped with a simple regular size bed, a closet, and a dining table. Thank goodness, the room has an air condition unit. The veranda at the front of the unit was just nice to stay while the night is still young to sleep. The comfort room is clean but doesn’t have enough supplies of toiletries, and no towel available. The power supply on the area had turned off but it didn’t bother us because there is a generator set that supplied the power for the compound. Kitchen utensils were available upon request.

The owners were so friendly and accommodating. The accommodation is a bit pricey for such a simple service but then we have no reason to complain, but instead we felt so thankful, at least we found a place to stay and yet comfortable somehow.
