Mercado Central Quito Jun 17, 2014
Central Market in Quito is a must go for breakfast or lunch. It is surprisingly small place with only two floors and not so much of the space. I was expecting much larger market in the capital of country that has all kinds of fresh products and fantastic food options. I love the juices that ladies poor for you in variety of cup sizes. Mix and match is my favorite game, and I usually let this ladies to make their magic and tell me what I like :) Once I asked a guy to make his favorite thing and he start placing some fruit, avocado, one egg, milk and root beer… IT WAS AWESOME!!! All vendors are dressed in working clothes and place is super clean. On the second floor there are few ladies with multiple corn and spices options. That is a perfect snack for any time of the day. Always go for the local specialties, but I have to warn you that they have soup with intestines and leftover organs and skin, and you probably won’t like that one…
