Menzies Welcombe Hotel Stratford-upon-Avon
Menzies Welcombe Hotel Stratford-upon-Avon Reviews
would not come back with family Aug 15, 2009
I was disappointed by our current stay. We were told this is a kid friendly hotel and it is not. Very limited use of the pool for kids. Bathroom vents filthy. No valet helped us with our bags it did not make us feel welcome. No Air conditioning. No comfortable accommodations for children. We went to pool during appointed time and told that it was too close to the end of the session. We were told children not allowed in pool on off hours and other children were in the pool. We pointed this out and then they kicked the other kids out instead of letting our children swim. Our children are well behaved and we respected their rules. The restaurant told us they had no tables and my wife and I saw at least five tables open for an extended periods of time. The hotel is beautiful. We train our children to be good guests in a place like this and yet we felt there was a lot of snooty behavior. This seemed to be coming from the management. If they don't want well behaved kids ok but then state that. Put on the website that the pool, lodging and other amenities are restricted for children and then expectations are met. Overall, very expensive and not a good fit for a decent unpretentious family.
