Mengla Vacation Guide
Mengla is a town in the southeast of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China. It's located very close to Mohan, the China-Laos border town. Most people stay here for a night before going to Laos or Jinghong/Kunming.
Unlike what most travel guides said, there are a lot more to do than staying overnight at Mengla. Mengla is actually a decent town comparable to Jinghong city. The town centre is made out of one very long street. You can go shopping, visit the fresh market or go to Mohan. There is a Laos market in Mohan on 7th and 8th of every month not to be missed. There are several bus stations in the town. The town development is very fast. At the time of writing, shopping complex, hotels and apartments are under construction.
