Day out in Hungerford (Berkshire) and Swindon (Wiltshire)
Summer is finally here and everyone is out and about. Gosh it seems like we've waited for it forever. Day trips and weekend trips planned to various villages and towns in the South of England. This time round it was Hungerford, a small market town 45 minutes drive from Reading, where I live. The town is close to the M4 and Kennet and Avon Canal also flow through Hungerford (maybe next time I’ll travel by boat from Reading).
Part of my mission heading to Hungerford was to go to Membury Airfield for a flying adventure. The airfield is off the M4 westbound betweeen junction 14 and 15. The weather was perfect for flying and I took to the sky like duck to water, flying over Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The feeling was indescribable and flying above the clouds and into the clouds made it even exhilarating. I finally landed back to reality, smooth landing (even the captain of Singapore airline would be proud!)
After the adrenaline rush with all the hype, it was time for retail therapy at the Designer outlet in Swindon, which was 20 mins drive from the airfield. The sales are on and several well know high street shops have got outlets at the outlet..too many shopping bags to stop and take pictures :)
Time for the barbecue!
