Great club in Prague Jun 01, 2008
This place is really cool. They have a cover sometimes, but it's no big deal...pay it. It's kinda hard to find but worth the effort. It's one of those basement or "cavern" type places and looks kinda like it was an abandoned mine...a very small mine. But the looks of the place aren't what's important. It's just a cool, low-key place to hang out. The music was cool every night we were there. They even had an 80s theme one night and there were some very recognizable 80s tunes that had been translated and re-recorded in Czech; cool to hear em that way. The bar staff is really nice and although it's not customary to tip in Europe, these guys/gals will pick your face out of the crowd if you give em a little extra. Drinks are cheap and the women are hot, but I learned...don't offer to buy them drinks. It's considered an insult of some sort...whatever, more cash to get MY drink on. But do ask them to dance, you'll have a great time. No matter where we went in Prague over the 3 nights we were there, we always ended up going to The Meloun for a little while. Never made it into the restaurant, so you're on your own there. Good times.
