Melnik Vacation Guide

Located in a small valley and surrounded by amazing hills and mountains (made of a yellowish mix of clay and sand and pyramid-shaped), Melnik is one of the most scenic towns in Bulgaria !

Its houses with wooden balconies date from National Renewal time, and some of them have become museums to present how was life in the region some centuries/decades ago.

Moreover, the best Bulgarian wines are produced in the region of Melnik. There are many places where you can savour them, let it be in restaurants, caves or museum-houses. (Un)hopefully, the greatest one are fully natural and do not really survive to travelling, so you will have to stay long enough in Melnik to taste them all in the best conditions !

Around the town, you can visit Rojen Monastery, the ruins of the medieval fortress Slavova Krepost and of some churches and chapels, or just enjoy the landscape during the time of a walk in the surrounding Pirin National Parc.
