Ape
Oct 11, 2007 - Jun 29, 2008
Dear boys and girls, today I'm going to tell you a story about out little friend Ape. Ape lived in a big forest not far from here, and he had a very pleasant life. His family cared about him and loved him, and Ape had many good friends all over the forest. One day, Ape decided to make a trip to the other side of the forest. He packed his belongings, said goodbye to his family and friends and went his way. On and on he went. Every now and then he could fly on the back ...

Someone on Facebook posted this as a note, and I thought it was pretty hilarious, so I've copied it here. For those of you who don't know, the Australian government are going to introduce a test that will be mandatory for people applying for citizenship. It'll have questions like, "What is the population of Australia?" and "Who was the first prime minister of Australia?" and "What is the Australian colloquialism for barbecue?" The test below is a funny take on the whole thing...LANGUAGE ...

I was in tears, physically and emotionally, while counting my last few hours in a country that made me see a world where dreams come true. Yes, more than Disneyland can! I will be missing Australia. But I promise, coming back will definitely be on my priority list of future travel plans. Goodbye, Australia!

Touch Down Melbourne

I needed to slowly make my way back to Sydney so I booked myself on the oz experience bus from Melbourne to Sydney. I thought the oz experience would simply be a form of transport to jump on and off at places but on this particular route it seemed much more like a tour. This turned out to be a good thing as I could just relax and enjoy the scenery without having to plan anything. The oz experience pass included accommodation and most activities along the way. I got up early after ending up ...

It was quite interestgin even though there was a bit of a line, but unfortunately we werent allowed to take pictures. When we finished we had to quickly head back to Micks as we were playing gold at half 3. ON the train on the way home we found a tennis ball and so played train cricket with a bottle as a bat. I travel to Melbourne at least 2-3 times a year mainly to watch the footy and to do a bit of shopping and each time I go back I love it more and more. If I didn't live in Perth then Melbourne would def be the city I'd want to live in.   This particular trip my brother and I went to Melbourne for a weekend of football, with a bit of shopping for me and partying for him. Our teams (Hawthorn, him and Carlton, me) were playing watch other at the Telstra Dome. I was hopeful that this trip ...

Mein letzter Tag in Melbourne!

Just a quick note for those of you who are confused - yep, I stopped in Melbourne for a few days in December (after boxing day! so I did miss Christmas) but spent most of my time up in Rutherglen. A few days later I went to Singapore to visit my mum. I have been there since and only just got back to Melbourne properly today (1st Feb)! I went to Malaysia for a weekend while I was there too.

Bryony Andrew, Morgan And Finlay take me in. On day one in Melbourne I lost my bag and had to cancel my cards; this left me completely stranded whilst waiting for replacements. For the first few days I stayed on my friend Campbell’s floor. Once it became clear I was (very literally) getting under his feet I transferred to his sister’s house, where I stayed with her, her husband and 2 sons for a further week. Of all the things I anticipated about my travels, I never imagined I’d f...

G'day there friends and fellow travellers! Let me introduce myself to those who dont know me. My name is Abbey and I am a 23 year old Australian girl. For the past 12 months I have planning my trip to Africa. Why Africa? Good question. One that is hard to answer other than with complete honesty - something just keeps drawing me to this continent. Im not one of those people who think that they will find themselves through travel, because I am very self aware - I know my strengths and flaws. I ...
