Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park Reviews
(Relatively) Untouched Nature Oct 29, 2008
Meeman-Shelby Forest State park is located just north of Memphis. Twenty miles of trails vary in difficulty and invite visitors to enjoy nature in a (relatively) undisturbed natural setting very close to a major urban center. Wetlands, lakes, forests, the Mississippi River and the Chickasaw Bluff provide different types of habitat for smaller species of animals. Many birds, amphibians, reptiles and deer can be observed. A boat ramp is present to launch your own boat in the Mississippi River. Campsites are available and boats can be rented for use on the lake. If you visit Memphis for more than two or three days, you might be happy for a quiet day in the forest to relax from the busy city.
