Meat & Bread Vancouver Reviews
Jaw-Droppingly Good Oct 05, 2013
This place was recommended to us by our walking tour guide.
It is a modern-styled sandwich bar with an edge. They only sell three different types of sandwich each day, one of which is a permanent fixture on their menu. The one we got was a ciabatta-type roll with carvery meat and something crunchy and a green pesto-style sauce (you can tell how bad i am at describing food!). It was delicious. The best sandwich i've ever had. It was more like a roast Sunday dinner in a sandwich.
It's set up a bit like subway for maximum efficiency - one person at each station, one cutting the bread, one chopping the meat etc etc. You can view every step of the process through the low glass.
It comes on a wooden chopping board with a dollop of mustard on the side.
When we went the queue was about 20 people long but it was fast-moving.
The sandwich cost $8. The best $8 we've ever spent!
