The Pink Granit Rock Lighthouse Jul 21, 2010
This lighthouse is located in Brittany on the Côte de Granit Rose, a remarkable coast of France composed of deformed and water-sculpted pink rocks.
It is the entrance of the port of Ploumanac'h. The first lighthouse there was built in 1860 but it was destroyed in 1944. The current lighthouse replaced it in 1945.
The name Mean Ruz comes from Men Ruz, which means pink granit in briton.
It mesures 15m but is actually 26m above the sea.
It is not open for visitors.
