Mdina is the old capital of Malta whos earliest inhabitants date back to 4000 BC. It is known as the "Silent City" due to its narrow and quiet streets.

"Commanding a magnificent view of the Island, Mdina maintained a strategic position on the island due to its central location, highest point on the island and its distance from the sea.

Currently a limited amount of cars are allowed within the city limits which lead to the calming affect described by many visitors. Mdina is definitely a pedestrian's paradise.
