McSeagulls Boothbay Harbor Reviews
A landing Spot for food and drink... Oct 25, 2010
Stopped in to eat at McSeagull’s during my return to Maine, and even though the joint has been entirely rebuilt, it offers the same atmosphere as old. You may think from the new digs (and even the name) that this is a recent affair, but McSeagulls has been an establishment around Boothbay Harbor for years. In fact, McSeagulls is the local drinking hole, a rare venue among the piers where you might encounter more locals than tourists.
One of the major advantages of drawing natives is that McSeagulls remains open year round. Since I was here after Columbus Day, the season ending date for most businesses in these parts, McSeagulls was a welcome dinner option. The place is now a bit more upscale and even though there were some fancy new selections on the menu, I would still characterize the offerings as your basic bar grub (not that this is a bad thing!).
Of course if you have other motivations for dropping by, McSeagulls has a wonderfully extensive selection of bottled beer and the most tap varieties for miles around! The bar is a fun place and they even have wi-fi available these days. A bit too chilly for me to enjoy the outside deck area, I can see this would be a wonderful seating area in warmer times, serving up excellent views of the harbor in addition to food and drink. A fun place to drop in should you find yourself in Boothbay Harbor and overcome with thirst or hunger!
