Max Pett... Das vegane Restaurant Munich Reviews
Excellent vegetarian restaurant with lack of hospitality Mar 22, 2014
N48°7.961' E11°34.003' On the top spot of Tripadvisor's vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Munich, fully booked for lunch and diner (reservation mandatory), Max Pett can't relax to stay ahead of the competition. But it clearly did considering its hospitality towards new and foreign guests when we visited Max Pett in May 2013. You simply have to know that guests aren't the reason Max Pett exists. The impressive menu is in German and ingredients (important for vegetarians) are hard to understand. The most important person in the restaurant is the waitress, and she will decide when it is time to attend your table. When it’s time for an audience order swiftly without question or hesitation. Follow the Max Pett etiquette. Don’t complain about the dirty table and the improper cleaning. Enjoy that you are allowed to sit at a table at Max Pett.
Fortunately, the air of supremacy hasn't reached the kitchen. To accompany alcohol free weiß beer, the guacamole with vegetables was excellent. Really fresh. Full of taste. A real delight. The qualities of our main dishes were in a league of the own. The baby asperses (Pflücksalate) still had its bite without annoying fibres. The salad was excellent again. Max Pett knows where to buy its fresh food. Trüffelravioli was of a kind never tasted before. Heavenly nice. Unfortunately, the waitress threw us back on our feet not accepting any non-German bankcard or any credit card. Have your euros ready.
Our overall opinion is that the level of the service doesn’t meet the excellent food. When service fails, food suffers. Advice to the owner of Max Pett: give notice to the waitress and praise the chef. Recommended under strict conditions.
