I visited Mauritius in November, the Spring time. I thought this was a good time to visit as it is before the rainy season and there were colourful flowers everywhere.
The people were so friendly and I can say it's probably the friendliest country I have been to. The population consists of a mix of Indian, African, Chinese and Creole but it seems these different races and religions live side-by-side without conflict.

Awaking early on the 1st of June 2005 my thoughts were not that I was to be married for the first time but to get myself out of bed cos I was meeting my brother, best man and brother in law for a round of golf. The Maritim hotel is equipped with it's own golf course, a 2 minute walk from my suite a…

Over the past couple of years I have travelled a lot and I have taken many pictures from all over the world. As I do not have time to write blogs I decided to post a selected range of pictures here. up-date will be done not regurarly but from time to time. Please note some pictures have not the best quality as older (1997 - 2000)ones are basically scanned negatives. Should I mixed up any place or so please let me know. Looking forward to any comment or hint. Have fun and enjoy!

Where does one escape the madness of "the rat race" to recalibrate one's soul, to find laughter once again, to dance with impunity, and to find joy in the simple essence of life? Florianopolis is every bit beautiful as the name itself and along with the hospitality of the islanders, your heart is easily lost here perhaps to be reclaimed, maybe, on your next visit.

Mauritius is where my mum is from, I never lived there but it was really great to go back there (old enough to remember). I visited my family there and had a taste of the culture, and had a chance to practice my creole and show off my hip shaking moves as we all went out to dance some sega. The landscape was amazing like nbo where else, a volcanic island with so many different cultures living there, the diversity was really cool to see.

The rest of our stay in Mauritius we spent mostly at the Internet cafĂ© where we braved slow connections vainly trying to solve our tenant problems at home. But all in all we had a very nice time although we did not really like the island much. It seemed like a strange hodge-podge of cultures that d…

Just 2 days after our marriage my husband and I went with 5 other friends on our honeymoon to Mauritius. This seems odd but two of our (travel)friends were to get married ther.
We stayed at the Le Victoria Resort. This hotel is a very nice resort to stay at. During our stay there I've passed for my diving licence.
Why go there? Real melting pot of people, religions and culture.
Travel tip: go to the tropical gardens of pamplemous, rent a cab for a day and go for a trip on the island.
