Maunawili Falls - Maunawili - TravBuddy

Maunawili Falls is located on the Windward side of the island, just before you get into Kailua. It is quite a ways from Waikiki but well worth it if you are interested in hiking and waterfalls. The hike is about 1 and 1/2 miles long and pretty easy. There is a great view of the Ko'olaus Mountains, smaller waterfalls, lots of green foliage, great smell of the outdoors and a pool at the bottom of the 12 foot fall to cool off in. The pools are deep enough to jump off the top of the falls in. The scenery is to die for, excellent. You should bring plenty of water because there are no facilities along with trail and it can get really humid. It can be pretty muddy and slippery for most of the time so bring appropriate shoes, for example hiking boots.
