Maui Wowi Reviews

What a horrible experience. I ordered a Hawaiian coffee and was very cold. I am a Hawaiian coffee lover and this was no Hawaiian Coffee. it tasted stale like it had been sitting on a shelf for 6 months or more.
The service was sub par and the guy behind the counter looked very nervous and like everything was foreign to him. I felt sorry for him actually so I didn't ask for a refund. I then proceeded to order a smoothie which how could you go wrong with that. I recieved an over full leaking cup with huge chunks of ice still and this was supposed to be a Mango Orange smoothie. I forgot to mention that not one person walked into the place the enitre hour I was there. This operation needs help. Doesn't appear to me that the owner of this business has a clue in the worlld. It must be absentte run. I will never go back. What a nightmare.! |

OK, let’s not furrow those brows just yet; I know this following review is going to be a departure from the usual homey-neighborhood cafés that I normally gravitate to and praise. And as if we need anymore coffee café chains, right? Well, I believe this unknown gourmet chain deserves a little note worthy mention because of . . . the Mocha Macadamia Latte, off course!! A good friend introduced me to this coffee in the San Leandro area not too long ago, and since then, this type of product is gaining momentum and popularity.
Maui Wowi’s claim to fame is the “Hawaiian” coffees and smoothies served and surrounded by island attitude. If you’ve ever been to Hawai’i, the café’s themed atmosphere will both amuse and intrigue you. But aside from the décor, their Kona espressos simply create distinct flavorful notes that grab the taste buds and keep you coming back for more. Unconventional coffee flavors include coconut and macadamia, and smoothies can consist of fresh strawberries, bananas, mangoes, kiwis, etc., all strongly associated with life in the islands. And Oh, have I mentioned, Ghirardelli chocloate used for their mochas?! Though their coffees are great, pastries and desserts leave a lot of room for improvement. Depending on the location you visit, food items will either be scarce or unappealing. However, all locations do offer packaged Hawaiian cookies, popcorns, Kona coffees, etc for purchase. Small latte - $3.80 Small coffee - $1.55 Small smoothie - $3.20 Aloha! |
