Maui Taco - New York - TravBuddy

It's supposed to be a Mexican food joint, but to me, it's the idea of Mexican food with a Hawaiian twist!

Have you ever had a fish burrito? OMGosh, it's the best thing ever! Maui makes the best burritos and tacos on earth (that's what I think). They have the classic meat to seafood to vegetarian!

They also make their own sauces and they vary from the classical tomato sauce to their special pineapple sauce, which is amazing!

The place is small and very cute; it is decorated with Hawaiian maps, artifacts and surf boards. I have at times felt like I was in Hawaii, and then I would hear the buses and cabs and snap back to reality.

If you are in NYC, Maui is the best place to eat, it's cheap (food starts at 4 bucks for combos) and it is conveniently located next to the Empire State Building.

The restaurant has a bar and their staff is very friendly!

AND... I forgot to add, Oprah has been there and had one of their drinks featured in her magazine. The people at Maui are so proud of this that they have the page from the mag framed :o)
