Matchstick Marvels Gladbrook Reviews
Amazing but in a very small town. Jun 14, 2010
This amazing museum of the work of Patrick Acton is such a wonderful place to visit. Patrick glues regular wooden matchsticks together into some of the most detailed and large things you could ever imagine. On display are 60 of his projects from fairly small to 13 feet long. A few of the items include the battleship, USS Iowa, a scale replica of a space shuttle about to be launched, and the US Capital. His newest is the Minas Tirith from J.R.R. Tolken’s Lord of the Rings. Acton’s work has been on several television shows and shown everywhere around the world. The small entry fee of $3 for adults, and $1 for children 5 to 12 is a real bargain. They are only open from 1 pm til 5pm everyday from April 1 to November 30th.
