It was a Sunday and the New England area of the US was in for a winter storm. Boston and surrounding areas received about 2 feet of snow! I wached the snow coming down hard while I had the New England Patriots playoff game on. I believe they were playing the Pittsburgh Steelers down the road from me at Foxboro Stadium. The Patriots beat the Steelers and ended up winning the superbowl that year. Anyways, I had a bottom floor apartment and my living room window had 13 inches of s…

On Sunday we decided to take the train into Boston which was great since I have never been on a commuter train and have NO commuter train ediquette (how do you spell ediquette????), which was quickly brought to my attention when I played my McDonalds porn clip on my phone much to the dismay of the man sitting behind me.  It was far too quiet and serious on the train in my opinion an opinion that was shared by Kerry I might add.      &nb…

Flights and Hooters

Sunday, October 12, 2008   We had to start very early today. We have a 6 AM flight so our goal was to be at the airport by 4:30 AM. That meant leaving about 3:45 AM. That required us to be up by 3 AM. Good times. I hate mornings. I’m not one of those people who have to be up by 7:30 or think I am wasting the day. I don’t really sleep in, even on the weekends I’m usually up by 9:30. But getting up at 3 AM is just wrong. Luckily when you are doing that to start a vacation it kind o…

Day 1 - Annapolis to Baltimore to Boston
posted by:
Aug 21, 2008 - Sep 06, 2008
Finally we landed in Boston about a half hour late which was not good at all! To add to that, we were delayed getting to our gate to unload because they were not ready for our plane. I couldn’t figure that one out since we were late to start with, but we’re here and that’s all that matters. We had only an hour to get our luggage, go through customs, find our way to the domestic departure counter and check our bags, then back through security to catch our flight to Baltimore.  …

Early morning...

This morning we got up proper early and headed to Boston Logan to catch our flight back to DC.  Since I was flying with Sarah and Nathan this time, I decided not to put them through the hell of 3 connecting flights, and just go ahead and get on a non-stop.  We flew JetBlue to Dulles.  Mostly it was a non-eventful flight except for the face that Sarah is pregnant and she was seriously queezy the whole flight.. but Nathan and I tried to make her feel better by making fun of her..…

Easter Sunday at the Lee house
posted by:

When I first arrived in Boston last April, I had nowhere to live. Luckily, one of my friends who I'd be living with in Boston had cousins living in South Boston, and we were able to stay with them for a few days until we found a house or apartment. They were kind enough to invite us for breakfast on Easter Sunday, and promised us an Irish breakfast, without the black and white pudding! It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and we met a lot of their family, all of whom were very keen on finding ou…

A day in Boston
posted by:
Apr 29, 2008
I had flown into Boston the day before but had no time to sightsee.  I was there on business but gave myself one day to see this historic town.  I had booked a hotel up in Andover, MA, which put me close to where I was working.  I asked the receptionist at the hotel the best way to get into Boston in the morning, and he told me to head south and then take the subway into the city, as to avoid traffic and parking and the nightmare I had experienced the day before trying to drive…

I leave Boston tomorrow.  I’m driving over 700 miles, through Canada, to move the last of my belongings in with my father in Michigan.  I’ll be there until Sept. 4th when I fly to Dublin from Detroit.              I feel better tonight than I did last night.  Last night I was feeling quite sad at the thought of leaving Boston and saying goodbye to…

I've been feeling pressure from all these blog sites to write a little about myself.  Hmm...so who am I? Daddy's little girl.  Ballerina.  Animal Lover.  Marching band member.  Cheerleader.  Conformist.  Pot head.  Protester.  Traveler...  I was born into middle class by American standards, affluence to the majority of the people in this world.  Daddy sat me on his lap and told me stories.  Mommy did my hair to make me look lik…

From New York, we took a train to Boston. It was here we found HI Hostels, which are brilliant value for money. The place we stayed at was very sociable and oganised a night out for everyone in the hostel. the next day, after the hangover had worn off, we went for a walk around the Freedom Trail. This is ok if like a lot of history, but for us we were a bit done in after the night before. We eventually got to the U.S.S. Constitution in time for a huge storm, and so were trapped in a corner of…

I can't believe I am actually doing this. Alone in Europe for 9 weeks with just a backpack, passport, and railpass!?!?Words can't express how hard it was leaving my family. They only saw me leave once, but I had to walk away from each one individually knowing it would be the last time I saw them for months. I admit that it didn't hit me until last night. Thank God for technology. So dad dropped me off this morning right? I walk in and look at the departure schedule. JetBlue flight to JFK CANCE…

We left Monday bright and early in the Morning and got into Boston by 10AM where we got some transportation up to Salem so we could see the land of the witches!!!   We took the subway from Logan airport into the city then found that we needed to take a commuter train up to Salem.  We get on the tra…
