Masas Makati City Reviews
masas: a popular place for philippine travbuddies! Apr 19, 2009
Masas is a popular restaurant for travbuddies in the philippines. It is located in makati city in the uptown and high end shopping center of greenbelt.
the area is known for above average prices of bars and restos but, masas stands out because of its cheap price compared to its neighbor restaurants.
masas is a filipino (tagalog word) meaning "mass" or the common people. They made everything affordable for common filipinos.
the restaurant is very clean specially the toilets, staffs are friendly and very nice atmosphere in the outdoor dinning area.
the restaurant serves traditional filipino cuisines such as:
inihaw na bangus (grilled milkfish)
laing (root potato/yam)
nilasing na hipon (shrimps marinated in liqour/beer)
dinuguan (innards of pork cooked in its own blood)
crispy pata (deep fried pork leg)
lechon kawali (deep fried pork belly)
pinakbet (a mix of okra, aubergines, squash, pork meat and shrimp paste)
fried dilis (fried anchovies)
achara (pickled papaya)
and many more philippine native cuisine varieties.
they also served lots of tropical fruit juices, imported beers (asian/european) and the best of all is bottomless ice tea!
so you if youre in the philippines and wanted to have a travbuddy meet-up - do not hesitate to organize a dinner at masas. Or if you want your privacy but visiting the philippines, do not forget to eat at least once in this recommended restaurant!

Masas at Greenbelt 2 Mar 03, 2008
It's been said that you can already know when you have good food in front of you even without tasting it... but just by the smell of the dish. This saying holds true for one of my favorite restaurants in Makati--- MASAS.
Well presented with a very relaxing ambience, Masas is a modern Filipino restaurant is fast becoming popular amongs local and foreign customers. The food presentation is so artistic, making it look even better and more delicious.
What I like about Masas is that food servings are good for two to three guests which will definitely be enjoyed by Filipinos which has been part of our MEAL CULTURE.
My ultimate favorite is the PRITONG TAWILIS (USD2.5), a small one and a half-inch fresh water fish which can only be found in Taal Lake, drenched in flour and cooked at high heat to achieve a crunchy exterior, but leaving the meat soft and tender.
For the dessert, nothing beats their layered Buco Pandan (USD2). It is made from cream mixed with coconut meat overlapped with pandan extract gelatin.
