Dirt cheap and well located Jun 08, 2011
This small hostel in Kota Kinabalu is really good value for money. Its well located in city centre, but still of a side street so you avoid too much noise at night.

We paid 40 MYR per person per night, which was really cheap. We got a twin room, and a shared bathroom.

In the price is included a light breakfast, and free wifi.

The security here in really in top, and everything is clean and nice. The staff is super helpful, and speak perfectly english.

There is a large common area in the lobby where you can meet and greet, as well as enjoy breakfast with fellow travelers.

Really recommended place!

Fantastic hostel with very accommodating staff Jun 08, 2011
Stayed here over 3 nights in Kota Kinabalu. I was very pleased with the amenities and state of the lounge area and private rooms we stayed in. The staff were very helpful from the off with prompt email replies regarding the cancellation of a night. Any requests were dealt with straightaway and the owner was extremely accommodating.

The hostel is located somewhat away from the middle of town and the rest of the hostels, however if you know KK you'll know it's a pretty compact town, and it's a very short walk to the Waterfront and Filipino (Handicraft) market.

All in all, I'd highly recommend Masada as a hostel, whether as just a place to rest your head, or as a place to chill out after a painful couple of days climbing Mt Kinabalu!
