In two days the calendar will officially welcome autumn, but already the air is crisper, a few leaves are beginning to turn and that unmistakable fall feeling is beginning to creep through the pores of my skin. As the sun sets a little earlier and the mercury dips below 50 degrees, a gentle wind assures me that the hopeful carefree days of summer have been subdued. It is a season of change. In less than two weeks I will be once again walking beneath the shade of quince trees in Central Asia's…

Finally, it was time to go home. It had been a good trip, and it had been great to see so many friends and family members; but I was ready for my own bed and my own house. I flew out of BWI, and headed back to Phoenix.

So not only did we leave late but Brandon and I stopped off at Eat 'n Park... a family restaurant in Pennsylvania to get my sister, my friends in New York and my friends in Orlando some cookies that aren't too good -they're like a short bread sugar cookie (neither of which I like)- but they like the nostalgia of them. Which in turn made us even later than what I was expecting.
We got to Baltimore around 12:30PM just in time for a tea party. See my sister, Kari, thought that …

As to not neglect the dachshunds, we took Charley, Shadow, Riley, and Kaley to the beach with us. What a beautiful beach! I highly recommend Chesapeake Beach. There wasn't much sand (only a narrow strip) but the rocks, surrounding trees, and cliffs made the beach area look beautiful.
Of course Charley misbehaved. He barked at anything and everything, forgetting that he was just one fourth the size of most things he was barking at. In the end, Charley and R…

Baltimore... what a frustrating trip! A friend told me before I went that I would go, and then I'd be mad at myself, because I didn't have enough time to do everything. And that's pretty much exactly what happened. I'm disappointed that my airline will stop flying there next week, because it is almost the perfect day trip (the flight was only an hour and a half!), and I left far too much undone and unseen. Trinity's review: "This is the best place we ever took a vacation to." Trinity may be o…

Every year, my neighborhood (Hampden) has several large festivals but the largest and most outrageous is definitely Honfest. If you've ever seen John Waters' Hairspray, you might have a slight idea of what to expect... Otherwise, I offer you these words to summarize the insanity... Aqua-Net, Poodle, Flamingos, Leopard Print, Spam Bowling and Bawlmerese, Hon.The main street in Hampden is Shut down for the weekend and replaced with merchant boothes, artist huts and sandwich shacks. Its lik…

I have visited Bay Front Park a few times before. This morning I decided to walk to the right for as long as I could or alternatively as long as I felt like. In the end it was as long as I felt like due to my footwear. I reached a point in the beach where my flip flops weren't giving me the support I wanted to be able to climb over rocks (my feet were actually sliding in them because they had gotten wet with my wading). I stuck close to the cliffs when I could since th…

Living in Baltimore can be boring and depressing. However, Baltimore city has at least a nice tourist site, Inner Harbor, to enjoy. Also, Sherwood garden is always welcome to the public. It is hidden in the rich community, it is accessible though. The best time to visit the Sherwood garden is around April and early May. It is fulled of different kinds of tulips.
