Waterfront Hotel in historic Annapolis Jun 28, 2009
This is the hotel we stayed in on our wedding night two years ago today, so for our anniversary, we decided to spend the night here again.
Water view rooms here are pricy, $350.00 a night, and breakfast is not included, and there is no pool, but the location is great for visiting all of downtown Annapolis, and the view from our room was amazing…especially in the morning as the sun came up. If you want a view of the water, make sure you ask for a room with a balcony that faces the water. Not all of the rooms have balconies or great views of the water, so you have to ask for one when you make a reservation. We stayed in room 420, so the pictures below will give you an idea of what to expect. The room itself was very nice, clean and well kept and the beds were very comfortable too. The bathroom was a bit small, but very clean and the shower had very good water pressure For a room right on the water, you might expect it to be a bit musty, or humid, but it was not at all. I adjusted the thermostat in the room to our liking, and it was very comfy sleeping at night. Our room faced the rising sun, so if you are not a morning person, or just like to sleep in, get a room that doesn’t face the water. The hotel doesn’t have a large lobby, just a couple small seating areas with nice comfy chairs, tables and a nice TV to catch up on the news. There are also a few very large glass display cases with model war ships inside on display. This is Annapolis, home of the U.S. Naval Academy, so naval décor is the main theme here of course. Attached to the hotel is Pussers Landing, a very nice restaurant and bar. This is a popular hangout for locals just looking to grab a bit to eat, or a few drinks. It also serves as the hotels room service, which we took advantage of for breakfast. The food was very good, fresh and served hot! The hotel has valet parking for $19.00 a day or you can use the downtown parking garage for $10.00 a day, but then you would have to walk about a ¼ mile to the hotel. Not bad if you don’t have a lot of luggage, but the valet parking is much more convenient. All of the staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpfull. If you don’t mind spending the money, and want to be right on the water in historic downtown Annapolis, I do recommend the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel. There are much less expensive hotels in the Annapolis area, but you can’t beat the view or location of this one! |

beautiful but Aug 18, 2008
The hotel has an ideal setting and looks elegant. The price reflects the location.
The service, however, was way below courteous. Many of the staff were rude and snobby. Hardly what I expect from a Marriott. read entire review at TravelPost.com |
