Located at the heart of the TimeSquare Oct 30, 2008
The hotel was great. Located directly at the TimeSquare you can not have a better place to stay for exploring the Broadway and Manhatten.
The hotel itself has everything you wish.. enough place inside the rooms, good service, concierge service, fitness center inside... Also "The view" - the restaurant at the top of the building, is excellent.  Part of the New York (Marathon) 2008 travel blog

Luxury in the middle of the city Aug 28, 2009
We end up using this hotel for 3 days stay. And we were not impressed. The location is excellence, in times square where all the actions happening (Broadway, shops, party and stuff). However everything else is standard.
The hotel cost us over 300 dollar a night and when we arrived, there were no shampoo, soap and conditioner in the room. We need to call (twice!) before someone came to gave us what we need. There's also nothing available in the minibar, so i cannot approve them as a 5 star hotel really. The only nice thing i like about the hotel is the lift which has an open glass so we can see the movement. Like the lift in Emirates Tower hotel. Everything else is standard!

Okay so I've never stayed here but I've been there many times (not in the by the hour sort of way, those of you with minds in the gutter :P).
I haven't a clue on the state of the rooms but I WOULD recommend just taking the glass elevator up to the lobby that has the over view of Times Square. Great view, esp. if you go during New Years Eve. There's a restaurant on the lobby floor so you can have a valid reason to be there. Also there are sometimes shows and conferences, I've been to a Bdwy dance recital there.  Part of the list NYC-Manhattan neighborhoods/sites for Visitors

The Marquis is a cool hotel. It is right at the center of Times Square. The rooms look out over Time Square.

There is a revolving Restaurant on the top of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square that I went to. I got great views of the Island of Manhattan up there and I also got to keep my Cocktail Glass as well. The people I met on my first night were very welcoming and they… New York City 2006 |

We went there with a marathon team and stayed at the Marriott Marquis Hotel located directly at the TimeSquare what was great! We had only 3 whole days, so there was not so much time to walk around and explore the city. Although Tobias had to take care for his feet. So we just walked around… New York (ING) Marathon 2008 |
