Marksburg Castle in Braubach, Germany Apr 18, 2007
This was the first castle i have ever visited and it was a Grand experiance! Marksburg Castle is the only castle located on a hill along the Rhine that has never been destroyed. Built 700 years ago, it is still genuinely intact.

Boots or hard soles are recommended as you will be doing a lot of climbing up and over boulders..

To tour the Marksburg Castle, adult admission was 6 euro, i m not sure of child admission as we did not have children with us! So check the website

The tour starts at the Fuchstor or Fox gate and you head up a stairway and begin your walk through the castle. You get to see the master bedroom ( the bed looks like a child's bed), a Romanesque Great Hall and onward to where the castle kept its guns and cannons. Then you head down towards the wine cellar, a sweater would be ideal to have at this point. Basically it is a guided tour in Deustch, they do provide english brochure of the guided tour.

I highly recommend at least going here once as this is orignal to the stone
