Marks Place Moorea Reviews
Low Profile but Amazing! Feb 05, 2011
Unlike many honeymooner suckers who come to Tahiti/Moorea to stay at the ultra-expensive resorts, I opted for this cozy, family-owned accomodation on the "quiet" part of the island. Mark's Place is literally hand-crafted, with each of the several unique bungalows built from the ground up in loving detail. You might see Mark on occasion doing maintenance.
At the front desk I found Bernard to be THE friendliest and most helpful host/concierge ever. While I only had about three days on the island, he hooked me up with all the information I needed to get the most out of my visit.
The only drawback is that you'll want a car for sure, in order to easily get to Mark's and other places. There are no real attractions within walking distance. This is only because of the island's unreliable bus system. Small price to pay, and I can't recommend this place enough!
