Market Hotel Barcelona

We booked junior suite #904 for a lot less than I usually pay for a hotel room in Europe. We had a huge terrace (facing courtyard, no view) and one of the biggest bathrooms I have seen in a hotel room in Europe (tub for two and waterfall shower). The hotel is quite noisy (especially in the mornings, quiet at nights) with very thin walls, so if you are sound sensitive, please stay away. The restaurant food is very cheap and unfortunately of various quality - go for fish and you'll be fine. It's a lively atmosphere and usually packed. There is no mini-bar in the room, but you can eat as many apples as you like and have free water bottles next to the reception. No room service or movie channel either, but you should not stay in your room when you are in Barca anyway... The hotel is located quite far from the city centre, but you can easily walk for 10-15 minutes to get to La Rambla and the taxis are not too expensive either. The hotel recommended us to a great massage place called Masajes a 1000 in c/Mallorca 233, where they have drop-in massages for couples for whatever time period you want. And they are open really late as well! It's perfect after shopping at Passeig de Gracia before eating lunch at La Polpa www.lapolpa-restaurant.com
